First FIEA Alum Inducted into NSCM Hall of Fame
April 8, 2026

Recently a Technical Art Manager at Meta, Nikki Roth ’10MS, a FIEA alumna from Cohort 6, accepted the NSCM Hall of Fame award at the UCF College of Sciences Distinguished AlumKnight Awards Ceremony on Thursday, March 26, 2026. She was honored at a dinner with five other COS award recipients at a reception held by the College of Sciences and UCF Advancement at the Celeste Hotel. FIEA art faculty, staff, alumni and friends attended in support of Roth who traveled from California with her son, Asher.
FIEA staff nominated Roth for her cutting-edge experience working in real-time technology and interaction design. She has a diverse career spanning video games, film, VR/AR, and autonomous systems, where she specializes in bridging artistic creativity with technical implementation. Over the years, she has worked with leading organizations such as Apple, Electronic Arts (EA), Lucasfilm, and Google, contributing to immersive user experiences across multiple platforms and mediums.
While Roth is the 40th inductee into the NSCM Hall of Fame, nominees must meet certain criteria in their career, service to the community and engagement as an alum, to be considered for the award.
Roth met these milestones through an intentional effort to reinvest her time, expertise, and leadership into the next generation of Knights.
“When I first found out, I felt a deep sense of honor and gratitude,” Roth said. “Being the first recipient to represent FIEA makes this recognition feel especially significant.”
After building a highly successful career in the tech industry, Roth has consistently returned to support current FIEA art students. She volunteers as an industry reviewer during mid-term and final portfolio reviews, providing candid, professional feedback grounded in real-world hiring expectations. Her insight helps students better understand how to position their work competitively and refine their portfolios to meet industry standards.

Beyond formal reviews, Roth has made herself available to fellow alumni for one-on-one mentorship that extends well beyond graduation. By sharing career guidance, technical insight, and professional perspective, she helps emerging artists navigate transitions, promotions, and new opportunities with greater confidence.
In October 2025, Nikki returned as a featured guest speaker for FIEA’s 20th Anniversary event series. In her talk, she shared her personal journey, from attending the University of Florida, to enrolling at FIEA, to graduating in December 2010 and launching her career as a technical artist at Electronic Arts. By openly discussing her path, challenges, and growth, she provided students with a tangible example of what is possible through persistence and dedication.
FIEA Executive Director Ben Noel presented the award to Roth after a few words from Nitin Bakshi ’21MS, Technical Art Instructor and Industry Relations at FIEA: “When Nikki came to FIEA, she discovered something that changed everything: that movement could be captured digitally, that art and technology didn’t have to be separate worlds, and that there was a career waiting for her right in the space between the two,” Bakshi described about Roth’s past. “She now serves as a visible and inspiring role model for female students at FIEA and young professionals in the industry.”
When asked for additional remarks, Roth looked toward the broader impact of the program and the community: “I hope this award shines a light on the multi-faceted talent coming out of FIEA and serves as a reminder that our roots in game development prepare us for leadership across the entire tech landscape.”
“If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that while the only constant is change—and the pace of that change is only accelerating—the heart of the work remains the same,” Roth added. “Through every pivot and every milestone, my advice is this: Always be curious. Always be kind. My hope for the next generation is that their curiosity leads them to new frontiers, but their kindness is what people remember long after the technology has changed.”
