Joshua Newell
Programming Instructor
A Cohort 15 alumnus, Josh comes to FIEA with years of engineering experience in the industry, and still active as a senior gameplay engineer with ArenaNet.
Many of Josh’s earliest and fondest memories revolve around games in one way or another. He started making games in elementary school in Basic and has never looked back. Since then Josh has worked in indie startups, co-dev, and AAA studios in a variety of engineering roles and platforms. His love for games, technology, and learning keep the same excitement alive today that he felt as a kid sitting too close to the TV screen with an Atari joystick in his hands immersed in the limitless possibilities of the virtual world. Josh is a FIEA alumnus of Cohort 15, and currently works with ArenaNet as a senior gameplay engineer.
