Erik Sand

Director of Strategic Partnerships

Erik is focused on creating opportunities for FIEA students by growing the applied research program at FIEA through the creation of strong industry partnerships.

A proponent of Lean Launchpad, Erik also serves as a business mentor in UCF’s I-Corps program that helps teams of researchers and aspiring entrepreneurs turn their research into business opportunities.  Erik continues to consult with early stage educational technology companies helping them validate their business models as well as develop and scale their sales processes.

Erik is active in the military simulation community through I/ITSEC’s Serious Games Showcase and Challenge Committee having served as a previous committee lead.  Erik has held sales and technical management positions in consulting, manufacturing, and technology development organizations that include IBM, Digital Equipment Corporation, and General Electric. 

He most recently held the position of VP of Sales and Business Development for a Silicon Valley education analytics startup as well as 360Ed, a K-12 education game and platform company.  Erik earned both a B.S and M.S. in engineering as well as an MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York.
