UCF Downtown & Creative Village
About Orlando’s Creative Village
Orlando’s Creative Village was born in 2005 when the doors opened for 12 students to the Florida Interactive Entertainment Academy, a unique graduate program established in partnership between the State of Florida, City of Orlando and University of Central Florida with a mission to create high-wage talent for the growing video game development industry. Today, FIEA’s enrollment has grown to over 130 annually and Orlando is one of the fastest-growing video game and simulation development regions in the world. The collective impact is defined by the creation of UCF Downtown, a new 7,000 student campus focused upon Communication, Games & Interactive Media, Film, and Innovative Education in the core of a next-generation metropolitan city. In 2021, Electronic Arts opened a new studio and located all Florida operations to the Creative Village with UCF Downtown. Orlando is quickly becoming a destination for creative talent.
